A vibrant baby girl whose name was inspired by Maya Angelou — destined to move mountains, unapologetically herself. Playful and spirited, Maila was her mummy’s early bird, waking her at dawn with gentle kicks. She adored feta cheese, bagels, and marmite, and she is remembered in the colour yellow, in radiant sunflowers, and in the flight of seagulls who now carry her presence close.

About the scent:
Lemon & Lavender — a sweet citrus herbal fragrance blending sparkling lemon with fresh lavender, resting on vanilla and amber. Inspired by the traditional lavender scent of Bahia, Brazil, where her daddy is from. Used in festivals, rituals, and daily life, it represents cleansing, protection, and blessing — a fragrance chosen to reflect Maila’s lingering presence, her spirit of peace, and the love that surrounds her.

Maila is her mummy’s firstborn daughter, forever cherished and present in spirit. She sends seagulls as her sign, a reminder that she is never far. Her little brother, Arinze, carries her memory forward with love.

Her story gently raises awareness of preeclampsia — a condition that can be managed if known. Symptoms include swelling, severe headaches, protein in urine, and high blood pressure (140/90+). By sharing her story, her mummy hopes more parents will know the signs and more babies will be saved.
